Reverend Willie Ward , Jr. was appointed as the 40th pastor of  Mt. Pisgah Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in 2008. 

Reverend Ward, a native Memphian, was reared in the Binghampton Community and attended First Baptist Church on Broad as a child. Under the guidance of the late Reverend H. C. Cherry, He accepted Christ and was baptized at the age of eleven. He and his wife, Dorothy, have been married for 33 years.

             Before being placed in a pastoral position of nuturing and leading God's people, Reverend Ward experienced 20+ years of management in diverse and challenging workplace environments. He has an Associated's Degree in Management Technology from State Technical Institute at Memphis and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from LeMoyne Owen College. In addition to hisacademic and management acumen, his studies at Memphis Theological Seminary continue to advance his learning, knowledge and understanding of what it means to serve the true and living God.

 

             After accepting the call into the ministry, Reverend Ward was licensed to preach in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in July 1995. Piperton, Tennessee was the location of Pastor Ward's first assignment. As a Supply Pastor, he served the Mt. Hebrew C.M.E. Church family in October 1996. In July 1997, he was appointed as the Pastor of Washington Chapel C.M.E. Church. He was blessed to offer 11 years of dedicated service to the congregation and community.

 

              In addition to leading the Mt. Pisgah Church family, Reverend Ward serves as the Chairman of the Finance Committee for the Northeast District, Chairman of the Joint Board of Finance for the First Episcopal District, and Chairman of the Board of Directors for the First Episcopal District Technology Center.

 

Reverend Ward's personal goal in life is to lift Jesus up, thus allowing Him to draw all men unto Him. He believes that meeting the needs of people is an important as the church meeting itself.
